The best photos for AI pet dance videos

The best photo for an AI pet dance video shows one dog or cat, whole body in the frame, facing the camera, in bright even light, with nothing covering the pet. A clear photo lets Seedance 2.0 keep your pet's fur color, markings and face while it adds the costume and the dance moves. The upload box takes JPG, PNG or WebP photos up to 10 MB, and photos with people are not allowed, so crop or retake any photo where someone is in the frame.

Get the whole body in the frame

Step back so the head, paws and tail are all visible. The model needs to see the legs to make your pet stand and dance convincingly; close-ups of the face often give stiff results.

  2. 2

    Use bright, even light

Daylight from a window or outdoors in the shade works best. Strong backlight, dark rooms and colored lights hide the fur pattern and change the colors in the video.

  3. 3

Keep it to one pet and no people

One animal per photo gives the most faithful result. Hands, laps and people in the background are not allowed, so pick a photo where your pet is on the floor, a sofa or the grass by itself.

  4. 4

    Face the camera

A front or three-quarter view keeps the face recognizable. A pet seen from behind or from far above loses its likeness when it turns to dance.

  5. 5

    Skip filters and heavy edits

Beauty filters, stickers and text on the photo confuse the model. Use the original photo from your camera roll.

  6. 6

Check the free costume photo before you make the video

The costume photo is free, up to 2 a day, and the video is made from it. If your pet does not look like itself in the costume photo, try a different photo before you spend credits on a video.

Photos the upload box will not take

These are checked before anything is uploaded, so you see a message right away and no credits are used:

  • File type: only JPG, PNG and WebP. Other formats are not accepted by the upload box.
  • File size: up to 10 MB.
  • Pets only: before uploading you confirm that the photo shows only your pet and that you may use it. Photos that show people are not allowed under our rules, even with their permission.

Photos that upload fine but give weaker results

These photos are accepted, but the costume photo and the video are less likely to look like your pet:

  • Dark, backlit or colored light: the fur colors and markings are hard to see, so the video may change them.
  • Only the face: the model has to invent the body and legs, which makes the dance look stiff.
  • Seen from behind or from far above: the face is not visible, so your pet can lose its likeness when it turns to the camera.
  • Partly hidden: a blanket, a lap or furniture covering part of the body means the costume is fitted around a guess.
  • More than one pet: the model has to pick which animal to dress and animate.
  • Filters, stickers or text: they are treated as part of the picture and can change the look of your pet.

If you are not sure about a photo, make the free costume photo first. It shows how the model sees your pet before you spend any credits on a video.

Frequently asked questions

Does the background matter?

Not much. Each template replaces the background with its own Halloween scene. A plain background simply makes it easier for the model to see your pet's outline.

Can I use a photo of my pet already in a costume?

Yes, but the template adds its own costume, so the result mixes the two. A photo without a costume gives the cleanest look.

Why will the upload box not take my photo?

It only takes JPG, PNG and WebP files up to 10 MB. If your phone saved the photo in another format, such as HEIC, export or share it as a JPG first. You also need to tick the box confirming that the photo shows only your pet.

Can I use a photo with two pets in it?

The upload box accepts it, but one pet per photo gives the most faithful result. With two pets the model has to decide which one to dress and animate, so crop the photo to one pet or use separate photos and make one video for each.
